I’m expecting a happy event in the fall, which means I’m going to have to take my baby bump into account when planning my sewing. My goal is to create a few simple pieces that I can wear in the heat this summer and sew up quickly! This was the perfect occasion to try out my Colette Patterns Sewing Planner.
For spring, I’m currently sewing the Sew Over It jacket in a thick olive green rayon. This jacket will be perfect to warm up my outfits without sacrificing comfort.
I’m planning to wear it with a knee-length bodycon dress in striped jersey (self drafted pattern), which will be a perfect transition piece from spring to summer (with or without thights or a cardigan). I’m also going to use this pattern to sew a couple tank tops for the warmer months of the year!
To deal with the heat in the south of France, I chose the famous Aubépine dress, which I’ll make as a pregnancy dress in a lightweight chambray! I’m thinking about lengthening it a little, and not lining it so it’ll be even lighter.
Finally, I’m going to try to modify the Zéphyr skirt to be able to wear it really high. I’ll lengthen it by 4 inches or so, and I’ll sew it in a pretty floral rayon jersey!

Love your ideas and congratulations on your upcoming new family addition 🙂 I’ve taken my Arum (one of my favourite TNT patterns!) and made it with a soft, gray French Terry knit, tunic length. I love it and get many compliments on it. I topstitched it in a triple zig zap that because of the stitch length and width I used turned out to be a sort of wavey pattern. One of my favourite tunics.
