I think I’m crossing the line between intermediate and advanced. I’m confident in my skills, I’m getting better with fit and I make less and less mistakes, but there’s always so much to learn! My mother has been a professional seamstress for almost 40 years and she inspires me to get better with every stitch.
I had the pleasure to be a tester for this pattern. Datura is definitely the pattern that struck me the most in the new Deer and Doe collection. I’m a huge fan of Peter Pan collars and I would add one to everything I sew! The buttoned back is also very sweet and makes this pattern even more unique: I like to wear clothes that have interesting details both in the front and at the back.
I used a very soft cotton blend from Megan Nielsen. It was actually leftover fabric from another dress I made (I’m so glad I never throw anything away)! The print is adorable and the drape of the fabric was perfect for this project.
I absolutely love the final result! This blouse came together very quickly thanks to the great instructions; the Peter Pan collar variation is much quicker to make than the one with the cutout neckline, and it’s the perfect afternoon project.
I didn’t need any alterations, a size 38 was the perfect fit for me!
The best thing about this blouse is its versatility. It’s going to be perfectly comfy and casual with shorts and jeans, or more cutesy when tucked in with a high-waisted skirt. But even in colder months, this is going to be a great layering piece under a cardigan!
Patron utilisé : Datura, disponible dans la boutique.

J’adore !

Such a lovely interview! I enjoyed reading all the responses in English (was able to decipher the questions that way, hehehe).
I’ve been wanting to try this blouse, although I consider myself a beginner / (nearly) intermediate. I’m guessing that the peter pan collar is a bit more easy to tackle than the triangle cutouts…? The thing I love most about the blouse is the button up in the back. I’m not a huge fan of pullover blouses as they make me feel a bit trapped. 😉
I just ordered the Sureau dress pattern last week, and am anxiously waiting to get started on it!!
You have such lovely work!

Beautiful! As are all your projects.
Just finished my first Datura and am already cutting out the second. Am just a beginner, but the only place I struggled was with attaching front bodice to back. I think I was okay up to the step that said to pull the straps of the front a few cm to make it look like the illustration. Pulled on everything and could not get it to work. Ended up hand stitching, but love my blouse anyway. Would post picture if I knew how :-}
